1 dead in overnight homicide in Fort Pierce’ victim identified as Taylor …

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting at a home in Fort Pierce.

Deputies said a homicide occurred at a house on 703 West Weatherbee Road near U.S. 1.

Friday afternoon the sheriff’s office identified the victim as 22-year-old Taylor Matthew Harrison.

The back door of the home was shattered and objects from the home could be seen lying on the ground.

“Deputies were called to the home Thursday night around 11:30 p.m., regarding gunshots in the home,” Sheriff Ken Mascara said in a news release. “Patrol deputies arrived and found Harrison dead of an apparent gunshot wound.”

Harrison was once arrested in 2011. Port St. Lucie police took him into custody on a Martin County charge of criminal mischief, the sheriff’s office said.

The circumstances of the death are unclear. The victim’s name has not been released.
