FORT PIERCE — Police are investigating a Thursday shooting incident in which gunfire struck a sport utility vehicle, according to a report released Friday.
Fort Pierce police about 7:26 p.m. Thursday were sent to an address in the 700 block of Easter Avenue for a possible shooting-related incident.
A Ford Explorer was seen speeding from the scene, and investigators spotted it in the 900 block of Citrus Avenue. Three people hopped out.
A 36-year-old woman said she and another man went to her ex-boyfriend’s home to get her dog. After an altercation with at least one person there, they sped away and heard gunshots and bullets striking the vehicle.
Investigators found cartridge casings in an alley adjacent to an address in the 500 block of South Eighth Street.
Sgt. Jason Braun, Fort Pierce police spokesman, said Friday no arrests have been made, but that investigators are looking for as many as two people.
