FHP says 3 teens seriously injured but none dead in Fort Pierce crash

Authorities have identified three teens who were injured when their car struck a tree and a palm tree this morning in St. Lucie County.

Driver Christian Enrique Medina, 16, and passenger Timothy Aaron Green, 15, both of Port St. Lucie, were taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce in critical condition, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A second passenger, Peter Thomas Green, 15, of Port St. Lucie, was taken to Lawnwood in serious condition.

The crash was reported at 6:45 a.m. near at Orange Avenue and South 33rd Street in Fort Pierce. According to a crash report from FHP, Medina lost control while traveling east on Orange Avenue and went off the roadway, striking a fence, large palm tree and utility pole. The impact caused one passenger to be ejected, the FHP report said.

Medina is facing a charge of careless driving.
