FORT PIERCE — A church pastor is accusing of sexually assaulting a young female parishioner two years ago at his former house, according to an arrest affidavit.
She was 10 years old at the time.
Yves Similien, 57, of the 2600 block of South 15th Street, was arrested Friday on a charge of sexual battery on a person younger than 12 years old. The arrest was made at the Police Department when he turned himself in on an arrest warrant for failing to pay child support, the affidavit states.
The mother and daughter had gone to the Police Department in July and alleged that the pastor had sexual relations with the girl three times.
When questioned by police, Similien denied any wrongdoing, the reports state. He said he used to sometimes drive the girl and her mother to the church, The Common Ground Ministry, on Orange Avenue and Sixth Street.
According to the arrest affidavit, the girl said Similien enticed her into a house near St. Lucie Elementary School on South 15th Street. She quoted him as threatening to kill her if she told anyone.
She said she sexually assaulted her two more times, within weeks of each other, and each time she was dropped off at the church, the reports state.
Similien is being held without bail in the St. Lucie County Jail.
