HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL: 55-point 2nd half powers Central



Fort Pierce Central High School’s boys basketball team ended the regular season with a bang Friday night.

Trailing Okeechobee by one point at halftime, the Cobras scored 55 second-half points and breezed to a 92-71 win at Okeechobee.

David Reese had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Fort Pierce Central (15-7).

Anthony Knighton added 19 points and six rebounds, Jonah Jacques had 10 points and six rebounds, and Barry Bailey had 11 points and three rebounds.

Bubba Fludd scored 14 points for Okeechobee (13-11), which lost its fourth consecutive game. Shaquoy Ferrol added 12 points and Chris Epps had 10.

Fort Pierce Westwood 50, Inlet Grove 38: Malik Dunn scored a game-high 16 points as the Panthers won their regular-season finale in Riviera Beach.

Tarek Reaves added 14 points for Fort Pierce Westwood (8-10), which outscored Inlet Grove 16-8 in the fourth quarter.

Raheem Lewis had 10 rebounds.

Dontae Moses and Tristen Stephens scored 13 points apiece for Inlet Grove.

Benjamin 51, Jensen Beach 42: Will Randolph scored 18 points and Phillip Lyttle had 11 as the Bucs won at Jensen Beach.

Baron Newland scored 18 points for Jensen Beach (10-12).

John Carroll Catholic 44, Master’s Academy 28: Elliot Zirwas had 19 points, seven rebounds and two blocks on senior night as the Golden Rams won on Howard Avril Court in Fort Pierce.

Will Summler, also a senior, added seven rebounds, four assists and four steals for John Carroll (11-14).

John Diaz finished with 11 points and four rebounds.

Drew Wright and Isaac Waslewski scored 10 points apiece for Master’s Academy (13-11).
