Man critical after gunshot late Saturday in Fort Pierce

FORT PIERCE — A man remains hospitalized in critical condition from a gunshot wound that happened about 11:50 p.m. Saturday in the area of Avenue I and North 22nd Street, according to police.

Several shots were fired during the incident that occurred outside, said police spokesman Sgt. Jason Braun.

Detectives are looking for a suspect, a man who may have driven off in a small late-model maroon car. A description of the assailant isn’t available.

The injured man was found away from the shooting scene. He was in front of a house in the 800 block of North 23rd Street, Braun said.
