Man shot in leg in Fort Pierce

FORT PIERCE, FL – A man was shot in the leg in the 3300 block of Avenue L in Fort Pierce at about 2:30 pm on Friday afternoon.

According to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara, the 22-year –old man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He went on to say the shooters targeted a group of men playing basketball.

The Sheriff said, “The two suspects are black males. One is wearing a gray hoodie and the other is wearing a black hoodie. They were riding bicycles, and they were last seen crossing the pedestrian bridge heading east from 33rd and Avenue J.”

Sheriff Mascara requested that anyone with information about the shooting to call 9-1-1 in St. Lucie County and there may be a cash reward if information provided to Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest.
