Softball: Bayerlein’s 2 RBIs lead Fort Pierce Central past Sebastian River

Amanda Bayerlein went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs as the Fort Pierce Central softball team edged Sebastian River 4-3 in a District 12-7A game on Tuesday in Fort Pierce.

Bayerlein also had five strikeouts for Fort Pierce Central (2-4, 1-2 district).

Taylor Rembert went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

Central plays host to St. Lucie West Centennial at 4 p.m, Wednesday.

Okeechobee 6, Sebring 5: Stormy Stokes doubled in the go ahead run in the top of the seventh inning as the Brahmans edged the Blue Streak at Sebring.

Kathy Simmons went 2-for-3 with a double and a run.

Sam Harrell struck out 10 for Okeechobee (5-1).

Okeechobee plays host to Vero Beach at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Suncoast 2, Jensen Beach 0: Amber Braun pitched a one-hit shutout as the Chargers beat the Falcons (4-4) in a District 15-5A game at Riviera Beach.

American Heritage 11, John Carroll 0: Amanda Edelmann pitched a two-hit shutout for the Stallions (7-1) in Delray Beach.

John Carroll falls to 4-2.

Postponed: Boynton Beach at Fort Pierce Westwood. No makeup date has been announced.
