St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Detention Deputy Alan Ross dies in single-car crash …

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – A St. Lucie County Detention Deputy lost his life in a single-car crash on his way to work Thursday evening, according to Sheriff Mascara.

Officials say St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Detention Deputy Alan Ross of Port St. Lucie was on his way to work when the accident happened, shortly after 6:20 p.m., in the northbound lane of I-95 at the 130 mile marker.

The 130 mile marker is one mile north of State Road 70 (Okeechobee Road) and one mile south of State Road 68 (Orange Avenue) in St. Lucie County.
